Jayne Raffles owner of The Library Restaurant would like to encourage all restaurants, cafés, pubs hotels & coffee houses in Norwich to take part in a race on Tuesday 16th May starting at 10am at the Library courtyard on Guildhall, and follow a route down Goal Hillalong the Market place, up Hay Hill and to the finish line at the War memorial  on St Peters Street.

.

All you need to take part is a tray and sign up via the National waiters day website https://nationalwaitersday.com/about

The cost per applicant is £10.  You will be provided with plastic wine glasses and a plastic bottle of water (you may want to bring a sticker branded to your business to wrap around the bottle) and each waiter should wear their normal uniform for work.

If you cannot take part then everyone can help celebrate the day, simply by tweeting @WaitersDay_UK on the day with the hashtag #NWD2017 #Norwich

All funds raised from the day will help to support Springboard's FAB (Food & Beverage Programme). The programme has been created to inspire and educate students about careers in front of house food and beverage roles.

Jayne commented ,we are delighted to be involved with a event that raises awareness of what a fantastic career in hospitality can be, highlighting the dedication of the front of house teams as well playing a very positive impact on employment in our region and nationally .

With hospitality potentially facing an annual shortfall of 60,000 recruits from 2019, more awareness must be raised to attract people to the diverse range of careers the sector offers. Source: http://www.bha.org.uk/bha_news/brexit/
